About

Llamas (Lama glama) are a domesticated South American camelid used as a pack animal and for meat. In New Zealand they are mainly kept as pets.

The way to tell a Llama from the closely related Alpaca, is that Llamas are much larger in size, have a longer face and have curved/banana shaped ears. Another easy way to tell them apart at Paradise is all of our alpacas are of a solid colour, whereas our llamas are multi coloured.
